NTS ACTIVITIES

7/6/2003 – 25/2/2009

NTS Activities concentrated on health care & Society, The health care is including NTS concerns with all parts which deal with thalassemic patients, thalassemia center, blood bank, and patients them selves.

The most important NTS activities are:

Ø Building a new treatment thalassemia center in Ibn Al-Atheer Hospital - Mosul, by coordinating with (Peace Wind Organization in Japan).

Ø Supplying thalassemia centre with some medical materials when being unavailable in the center’s lab such as Bovine albumin & Antihuman globuline,Serum ferrtine and kit of HCV RNA etc..

Ø Preparing a data base for thalassemia patients and their families whom they are members in the society and the center.

Ø Distributing pumping devices of Disferal drug on the patients directly and free.

Ø Repairing pumping devices of Disferal free of charge.

Ø Coordination has been made with charity associations to supply our blood center in Mosul with separating blood components device for its necessity.

Ø Supply patients with medical requirements (10cc syringes, 20 butterflies and 20 amp. of water) for injection in order to cover the lack of these equipment and encourage the patients to take the Disferal.

Ø Making contracts with many governmental and non – governmental forms to support the society and its humanitarian programs by giving monthly allowances and one of these contracts is our contract with the technical institute and the technical college and University of Mosul. And with many of the people of Mosul, and we are continuing to enlarge the participation circle.

Ø In coordination with Television and Broadcasting Form in Mosul many programs have been broadcasted in order to educate the people of Mosul by explaining thalssemia disease and how to protect from it beside encouraging the people to submit the physical and real support for patients and the society.

Ø In coordinating with religion scholars and many of governmental forms heads, about 500 hundred volunteers have been persuaded by offering blood friendship lists from the mosques and the governmental forms declaring their desire to donate with blood for all their life and these lists contain the address, telephone number and blood sample, from this point we guaranteed volunteers ready to give their blood lovely.

Ø NTS has collected and sent 190 blood samples from 30 cases of thalassemia patients to blood diseases institute IME Foundation- Italy in order to perform the tests of HAL typing to make the BMT operations at specialized treatment centers.

Ø Coordinating with IME Foundation, NTS was ending the suffering of 16 thalassemia Patients by BMT operations between 2005-2008, all of them was success.

Ø From the beginning of this year 2009 in Ninava thalassemia centre the patients can using the computers during blood transfusion operation this computers which were available by NTS.

NTS future plans will be :

Coordinating with the Iraqi health ministry, NTS signed minutes of meeting (25th November 2008), BMT project with IME Foundation President and Board of Directors members Representative of Italian Minister of Health, By this project we will get BMT treatments (25-100) patients per year and IME shall ensure training two Iraqi teams, and also they will renew the BMT centre of Baghdad.

Ø NTS will beginning after 8/5/2009 to load a publication against thalassemia disease using all the notification ways to inform our peoples and the Iraqi society to stop getting new thalassemic patients by doing the pre marital investigation for thalassemia, this kind of test which is already exist in laboratory of Ibn Al-Atheer Hospital - Mosul .

Ø NTS will renew the centre of thalassemia in Ninava and we will make addition to the space of building in order to great more health care , services and entertainments like painting room and library.

NTS is hopping to show in our near future the rate of the thalssemia
infection will be decreasing to zero.
